We're making progress people!

Well, the floors are not done but we are making progress. I'm so happy with the way they are turning out. Here are a few pics of the progress we have made.

Early Start for 2012

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday. Ours has been wonderful. We were able to see lots of family and even find a little time for ourselves. Now that Christmas is over we have decided to jump start on some new home projects. For this year 2012 will bring us new flooring. Yup that's right were redoing our flooring in the dining room - putting in wood to match the kitchen and hopefully putting in new carpet through out the house at some point too.

A year of first's

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in this house.....I love this time of year. The smells, the colors, the music....everything! The past few weeks while taking a much needed break I have been busy digging threw many tubs of oh so fun holiday decorations. The house is filled with scents such as snowberry and Eskimo kiss from Scentsy (absolutely have to try scentsy if you haven't already)and lit up with not just one Christmas tree but two this year. Yup that's right folks Dust and I finally went out and picked out our first real Christmas tree! I forgot what a real tree smelt like....ahh we will definitely be getting a real tree every year for now on. Minus the not so fun experience of getting it into the basement (I will spare you the details) we are loving the way it looks.

We also purchased our very own Stockings this year from Personal Creations. I am so happy with the product they look so nice!!

A tough few weeks

Ok OK I know I have been absolutely awful at posting lately. I swear I say this every time I post (which yes I am aware has not been very often) but I just really have had a rough few weeks. After we got back from San Diego it's like the month just took off and left me hangen by a thread. I had a secret that I was so excited to share, although it is not a secret anymore, and definitely no news I want to share but feel I am ready to talk about it now. After just 8 weeks of being pregnant Dustin and I miscarried last weekend. I was really looking forward to sharing our exciting news after our first appointment(which was scheduled to be last Tuesday) but it ended up being a follow up appointment instead. Nobody can describe the devastation you feel nor can I explain the emptiness that is inside me. Although I was not far a long we were so thrilled to be expecting from day one and cannot imagine that heartache others feel being even farther a long than we were. We are so thankful for all the wonderful and amazing family and friends that we have in our life. They have given us such wonderful support during this difficult time. So on this note I may not post for awhile. I just don't have much to talk about right now. Until then..Stay Blessed!

Reality Bites

Well, we are back to reality and home from San Diego. It was a wonderful trip but I do have to say I wish the weather had been a bit nicer. Of course it was sunny and beautiful 76 degrees the day before we arrived and the day we left. Weather for us was closer to 5o degrees and rainy but that didn't ruin our weekend. We spent a lot of time site seeing Saturday and took a trolley around the city to see all the tourist hot spots. Sunday was filled with travel to and from the San Diego chargers stadium and tailgating before the game. Couldn't be happier with the packer win and yes it did rain that day also but luckily we purchased ponchos right before the game so stayed some what dry. That about sums up our trip. Work has been busy and will probably stay steady now until Christmas. The holidays are upon us.....and I need to start working on my Christmas list! Happy Monday! Hope your week is wonderful!

Our weeks in review

Oh my where has time gone......The last couple weeks I have been so busy spending time with friends, hosting a Lia Sophia party (LOVE LOVE that jewelry & can't wait to get all my beautiful items) going to a Scentsy Party (also my first which I am already addicted!) catching up on a really great book "The Hunger Games"

and of course participating in Halloween festivities. And things are not slowing down yet. This week my hubby and I are looking forward to flying out to San Diego to spend a long weekend with my sister in law Lacey & her husband Roy. We have no idea what we want to do yet except for sure going to the Packer chargers game on Sunday.....GO PACK!!! Hopefully we will have no plane problems (BTW I am terrified of flying) and great weather! Can't wait to share photos of our mini weekend trip!

Gym Etiquette

OK can I just say seriously what are people thinking sometimes........sorry if that's a little harsh, I guess I'm annoyed. I apologize if your one of those who go to the gym to socialize because I'm not. I like to get in do my thing and get out. Obviously it's nice to run in to people you might know every now and then but to make it your social event like happy hour is just plain weird. It can be a little entertaining to watch those who do go to the gym and spend a total of 5 minutes actually working out and spending the other hour or two (I'm never at the gym that long but I suspect) walking around and chatting. There's this one guy(not a meat head) at my gym who I see every night (I don't go to the gym every night) and I have never actually seen him work out. He stands around looks at the machines then finds someone he knows and talks to for 20 minutes. Then it starts all over again. I don't know why he bothers me so much but for some reason he does. Why waste your money on a gym membership (not cheap) if you don't work out.
There's also a woman (younger 20 something) who I purposly won't work out next to. I have found the few times I have picked a machine (the eliptical is my fave) and happend to be right next to her she spends the whole time glancing at my mine.I swear she is trying to compete with me or something. Keep your eyes on your own flippin machine and mind your own beeswax! Oh and remember to wipe off your machines when your finished.....PLEASE!!!!!! HONESTLY GROSS!!!!!
I'm not even going to comment on gym attire but honestly the things people wear and the amount of makeup....seriously people.

The Couple I love.....

I love Giuliana & Bill Rancic...seriously they are the cutest couple ever! Yesterday
Giuliana shared the news that she was battling the early stage of breast cancer. If you have followed this couple like I have then you know they have a t.v. show on Style.com as well as Giuliana being the co-host of E news. After struggling to get pregnant and trying IVF a number of times Giuliana & Bill decided to give it 1 more shot only this time the doctor recommended her getting a momogram first...long story short Giuliana found she has early stage breast cancer. How freaken scary!!!!I am sad for her and Bill .seriously they can't catch a break...
Remember it is Breast Cancer awareness month so remember to get yourselves checked out!!!!

It's cooling down folks

Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was very nice. Both Dustin and I were able to see my mom and his dad. My mom and I went to lunch at Q Cumber- Love that place...and then did a little shopping. Dustin's dad brought us wood for our fireplac and spent the afternoon visiting. I imagine we will be using our fireplace sooner than later. The weather man says it is going to cool down this week and possible even get a few snow flurries tomorrow night. Sooo not ready for SNOW!!!!! Other than that just did a lot of relaxing and cleaning around the house. I'm going to try and be better at blogging this week. I have a few new topics I'm excited to share. Stay warm all!

Thoughts on a new camera......

Does anyone know about SLR cameras? I have been thinking for a while now that I want to purchase a new camera but there are so many to pick from out there I don't know where to begin. I know friends who use both Nikon and Canon and they would say they like either one better so how do you know????? Here are a few I have been looking at. Help me out PLEASE!!!!!

Happy first day of fall!!!

Movie Day!

Ahh So I am having another one of those days.......or maybe months I don't know. To be honest I just have not felt like posting lately. Life has not slowed down and I suppose that is a good thing....but I have totally neglected my blog. Dustin has been traveling a ton for work and just last week he was in Spokane Washington for school. Although it is great he is getting to travel around and explore new places we have not gotten to spend anytime together. While he has been gone I have been using my time to hang with friends and family that I often don't see. Yay for friends & family!!!!! This summer has been packed full with camping trips, bachelorette parties, weddings, and baby showers..which have been so fun!.....but I am ready to slow down. I am pooped!
On a side note I have a terrible cold....So I have rented two movies for the day (Something Borrowed & Country Strong), planning on staying in my pjays, probably not going to shower (TMI????) and not leaving my couch. I should have plenty of time for my blog today and of course my little oakey!

Island

Last night Dust and I made an impulse buy and bought an island for the kitchen. Although it is cheaply made and probably won't last very long I am so glad we got it. I know it doesn't match but we needed the extra counter space/storage space! Yeah I am excited!!!

What I am Loving this week

I am getting very excited for Fall weather.....I absolutely love summer but definitely ready for a change. I am a huge fan of Michael Kors and here is what I am loving now.......

Great Buys!

I swear I say this every week but I promise to be better about posting. There is really no excuse except that I have been to lazy to do so. Anyhow I wanted to show you my new buys I purchased yesterday while shopping. I am super pumped since I have had my eye on both of these items but couldn't get myself to spend the money. Both items were super bargains and I couldn't resist! Patients pays off I guess.....

I found this at Pier 1 Imports. I'm thinking about using it for a shower I am help host next month........I bought 2 because I loved them so much! Until then I am storing my sugar in it :)

This rug is usually around $35 but yesterday while browsing around target I found it on sale for $17..... Now if I could only afford the larger rug!!!..AHHHH I love Target!

Favorites Thursday x2

I have been a total slacker on posting lately I know......Since I have gotten back from the cabin the weeks have flown by and I have been super busy. I have been really bad at posting my favorite products so this week I will do 2.
My first favotite this week I use religiously........since I have given up tanning and feel I look way better with a little color I have been trying out different products you can use at home.....so far this bronzing spray is my fav! Check it out!!!!!No streaks and no orange! oh and it smells ok too....

To go along with that beautiful fake tan I use the product Tarte. It's a moisturizing spray that adds a little glimmer and smells like coconut! LOVE!!!!!!

Vaca Time

This week I took a much needed vacation from work and headed up north to Park Rapids Minnesota. I spent some wonderful time with family fishing, kayaking, game playing, and relaxing. Oh and I finally finished my book I was reading - Water for Elephants super good read!!!!
During this time I realized it's so easy to let time slip away, taking things for granite. Our time should be spent wisely making memories and appreciating each other. Working day to day doing my usual routine I often forget how important it is to stop and take time to appreciate my time with my loved ones. This week was such a good reminder and I am going to work much harder on taking the time to slow down and make memories.
